During the second episode of Koffee with Karan 8, hosted by Karan Johar, Sunny Deol, accompanied by his brother Bobby Deol, shared an interesting anecdote. The Border actor revealed that he had personally requested Akshay Kumar to consider avoiding a box office clash between 'Gadar 2' and 'OMG 2.' In the conversation with KJo, he said, "I asked him not to do it if he could avoid it. However, Akshay mentioned the studio's decision and how two films could release simultaneously, so I respected that and said I could only make a request but couldn't do much more." In the context of the significant box office clash, Sunny Deol expressed his feelings, stating, "Honestly, it's quite an emotional matter. I've been longing for a successful film for years, and I didn't want another movie to compete with mine. However, one can't prevent such situations. It can be disheartening, but then I thought, 'Does it really matter?' and decided to move forward with it." Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 2' has made an incredible impact at the box office, amassing an astonishing Rs 515.03 crore in just one month. This remarkable success has elevated the film to the position of the second highest-grossing Hindi film, surpassing the lifetime earnings of the Hindi version of Prabhas' 'Baahubali 2.' On the other hand Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 starring Pankaj Tripathi was a decent hit as well and did a lifetime collection of Rs 120 crore.
